R Squared was privileged to work with our friends at Dysart Unified School District to bring a unifying style and typographic consistency to each of their twenty K-8 schools. An assessment of their district showed that their brand was all over the board, both in mascot design, and how typography was used in each instance. Some were even plagiarized from copyrighted material.
After a series of meetings to determine specific expectations, we set out redefining color palettes, began loose sketching, then moved to tight black and white line work, and finally produced the final color versions you see here. This was a 6-month contract that was completed on-time and on-budget. The district will roll these out in phases, in accordance with each school’s need to update marquee signage and refinish gymnasium floors, so we’ll be sure to update this post when we have some photography showing these beauties off in their various applications.
Be sure to swipe through the before and after examples below to see how each school has been dramatically improved, and how the overall district brand voice was transformed from din in a crowded room into a beautiful choir singing in harmony.
