CASE STUDY 2
D.A.Ranch, founded in 1876 by pioneer Gertrude Gates, began as the “Delta Alpha Ranch,” a working homestead with Jersey cattle in Arizona’s Verde Valley. Over a century later, the Petznick family—drawing on their deep roots in Arizona’s cattle industry—revitalized the property and transformed it into a boutique vineyard, blending its rich agricultural heritage with a new chapter in winemaking.
Wireframes & Sitemap
Our process started with understanding the needs of DA Ranch’s website. What would they use it for and how could we help them achieve their goals. To do this we created a site maps – a map of every page on the website, what its for and how it links to the rest of the website. This helps us make sure every page has a purpose and is connected to the the website through a link somewhere.
Defining the style
Option 1
Option 2
After speaking to the client and looking through some brand standards we decided on creating two options. The color palette and the overall aesthetic were predetermined by the client. They had a good grasp on what they wanted the website to look like and gave some great examples which made the rest of the job very easy for us to follow through with. We created and presented two options for styles for the website and created 3 example pages of what these styles would look like.
Photography
After deciding on an option for the style of the website we knew we had to have stunning photos to make the website work well with the design. We worked closely with one of our trusted contractors from beginning to end, explaining in detail what the goal and the vision for the website was, making sure to be there at every step of the shoot to keep things on target! Our end product was the most stunning shots to add to the website design as well as professional product photography they could use as well.
Development & Function
The last stage in our process is simply putting together all the pieces. Building out the website and making sure that it all looks good no matter what size screen the client is looking through, is essential to having a great website. This is also the stage where the client can look at it and see what they would like to add or change so this is the longest part of the process. Testing, and re-testing every page and process to ensure the client has a seamless and beautiful experience!
